From morning to night, our mind is always busy, stimulated by all kinds of sounds; from the weather report before leaving the house, radio talk on the way to work, to your favorite TV program to sleep to. Often whenever you face a glimpse of silence, you automatically reach in your purse and search for your cellphone. All these activities keep your mind restlessly at work all day long. Why not give it a break? How about meditation?
Meditations do not have to be a long period of time. Spare only five minutes a day for yourself. Don't say you don't have time. Only five minutes. If you always wake at 6.30 to get ready for work, get up a little a few minutes earlier. You can also do it at night before bed. Take a few minutes to prepare your body and mind, then spend five solid minutes in silence, yes, silence.
Five minutes a day add up. You will be surprised what those few minutes can do to your mind.
